← Brecon Carreg Cardiff Bay Run

Well organised race on what has to be one of the flattest 10K's possible.

Parking was a bit of an issue as I turned up relatively late so all the nearby parking was full and road closures then meant getting to alternative parking was an issue. Saw many runners walking from up to a mile away to get to the start although I'm sure this could be avoided if you are willing to get there early and pay the parking prices for a few hours.

Plenty of toliets available beforehand with the usual expected queues.

Good management of the starting pens although if you are not in the first couple of pens then you'll probably want to get in there early to get a good position as they fill up quickly. There's a wave start with the first 3 pens starting before a 10 minute gap for the remaining pens which helps ease congestion. The race is very busy so a good starting position is vital to avoid weaving in and out of runners throughout.

Great support around the Bay and on the Barrage. Not so keen on the section around the docks were you run up a long run surrounded by buildings with lots of speed bumps in the road.

Good quality t-shirt and medal at the end but slightly disappointing goody bag for what is one of the more expensive 10K races.

Overall, a great PB course with some great sights along the way with the Millennium Centre, Norweigen Church and Barrage and big crowds at the finish.
