← St illtyds Trail Race

This was my 2nd year running the St.Illtyds trail race and it was just as stunningly brutal as I remember.  A mix of trail and road. Crazy hills (over 4000ft of elevation on the course, so that kind of gives you some idea of how touch it is), beautiful bluebell filled woods, mission impossible style rolling under electric fences, fields of cows, some great downhill runs, fabulous volunteers at the checkpoints & a great welcome back at the finish line by Nathan, Tori and the crew.  If you want a beast of a race, this is the one for you.  You can't describe how tough it is to anyone taking part for the first time and the two girls I supported this year, were under no ilusions on how hard it would be but still couldn't believe the course.  It really is superb value for money, well organised and just a wonderful day out. This year there seemed to be more markers to follow, so I managed not to get lost this year :-)  A lot of the runners this year were returners from last year too and it's great how everyone cheers each other on as we all pass on the way back. It really is the friendliest race around.  Thanks Nathan & Tori for another epic adventure.
