This is a fantastic event organised by runners for runners. The organisation was fantastic and so many things had been thought about like bike racking for those who cycled, the option to opt in or out of the t-shirt at the end, lots of pacers that weren't just every 5 minutes, orange segments on route, fantastic support from the locals and one of the clearest PA systems for announcements that I've heard in ages. The pre-race warm-up on the stage was a lot of fun, the baggage tents were super organised and there were *almost* enough toilets to cater for everyone. The route is rather undulating, which I found harder than it should have been but the lanes were quiet of traffic and at the busier points, safety was paramount as there were enough marshals to guide you onto the pavemets and there were loads of traffic cones set out to help widen some areas by allowing you to run on the road but to be separate from traffic. The police were also around to stop trafic at a vital crossing point near the end of the race. The only kink in this plan was after the water station at 5k, which was on the right-hand side, then runners veered back to the left but very quickly needed to turn right again. This meant that lots of runners were weaving in front of cars at this point as it was unclear where we were supposed to go. A marshal at this point would have been really handy to keep everyone on the right. The support, considering the route goes through a small town and onto country roads, is brilliant! The brass band at the 9k point was very entertaining and helped me get to the end as  I had a shocker of a race. At the end, runners were quickly funneled through to collect water, a banana, a bottle of beer and a lovely medal featuring one of the resident peacocks of Corsham. I would heartily reccommend this race as I enjoyed all aspects of it - apart from the hills!
