← Brighton Marathon

Brighton marathon is such a fun place to be, whether you’re running or supporting. There was lots of crowd support along the whole route, with steel bands playing and spectators bringing their own sound systems. I ran in the pink wave (4:30-5:00) and i found the runners were so supportive of each other - it gave me & others a real boost. The route was fairly undulating which varied from residential streets to running the beautiful seafront & finishing just past Brighton pier. The only negative about the route was that around mile 20 you ran through an industrial site - so not that scenic, but it was a flat section of the course. There were portaloos dotted along the course, however, the queues were too long to stop along the first 18 miles. The further you ran, the more the queues shortened. The water stations were paper cups with 150mls of water in - if that. Not ideal. I was glad i had a hydration vest with water in. The final stretch of the marathon was fantastic- the cheering was amazing & there was plenty of space for runners to sprint finish without bumping into fellow runners & have race pictures taken. I would recommend Brighton marathon
