A strange event for me and that might be because of my perception before the race. I expected it to be a busy event with loads of running in the half marathon. She I turned up I was surprised that there were a lot less people than I expected. The bag drop was easy enough and the pick up after the event was very good. They had your bag ready as you walked up the retrieval area. The course itself is ok, mainly country roads with the odd bit where it passes through town. The roads aren't all closed so you do have to be careful of traffic. The aid stations were standard and spaced about every 2.5 to 3 miles. There werent any gels that I could see. There isn't a lot of support on the route as it's country lanes. There is a bit at the finish though. The marshalls were great and kept everyone flowing. The space between runners can get rather large due to the amount of entries. The medal at the end is nice and you get a bit of cake. I do think the event is on the more expensive side. Another event held in Wrexham in February is almost half the price.
