An expensive, very busy half marathon with lots of cons and only a few pros. PROS - If you like a big, busy race, this is the one for you. But this becomes a Con if not; - Well marshalled course with friendly marshals; - Good medal; - Reasonable goodie bag - Tech tshirt; - Very smooth baggage process - Plenty of loos (not something I say often) CONS - Way way too busy; - Getting everyone in start pens at 8.45am on a cold day when you’re not starting until 9.30am in the later waves is ridiculous; - Running on a cobbled street is crazy amd hazardous; - Poor, expensive photographs - many of the photographers I passed were just gazing around; - Very sparse support on the route in most areas; - Running through a tunnel is horrendous and screws your GPS up; - Funnelling everyone through a very narrow area to get to the baggage lorries caused a huge delay at the end. All in all, not a race I’d do again.
