· 2019 Half Marathon ·

A very well organised event, with plenty of updates throughout the buildup to the day. All participants were required to complete bag drop very early for a race at this time of year (leaving you standing around for a long time waiting if you were in a later wave start) - perhaps the bag drops could be coordinated in waves as well? The highlights of the route were Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and the Cutty Sark at the finish - the rest is pretty uninspiring with very little crowd support (less than at a lot of more 'rural' half marathons I've participated in). There was some good music throughout though - I particularly enjoyed the blast of 'Firestarter' as we exited the Limehouse Link Tunnel. The marshals were fantastic, right from arrival at London Bridge to the bag collection. The event has a very distinctive medal and I love the t-shirt. Not sure I would do this one again, as it's a busy time of year with plenty of other, more scenic routes to explore.
