This was a late addition to the race calendar as a friend couldn’t make it so offered my her place. The transfer was quick, easy and cheap (£3) - a real credit to SBR EVENTS. A shame other companies don’t do this. Registration was easy and numbers were collected on the day. Advice would be get there early as queues soon built up in a small hall. And races started at 9:30. This was where you had to be paying attention because there were various distances including canicross going at staggered times. Unfortunately with so many dogs, it was hard to hear instructions to which race was going next. Although once we had reached our starting pen, the race briefing was concise. As the race started it was clear there was a huge variety of abilities within the various distances - great. Very inclusive. However it made it first mile or two narrow along the trail track. The countryside along the trail is beautiful and on a brighter day would be stunning to run. Yet we couldn’t really enjoy the sides as we were looking at our feet, the runners ahead and watching out for dog leads. The route is a 5 mile out & back. The outward section slightly uphill, which you can definitely feel on the legs. But at the half way point it’s a turn and back down- great to achieve those negative splits. The finish line as well organised as medals were handed out and times printed off. SBR always have the best looking medals. Worth the entry fee alone. Then after a small walk back to the hall the bags of water, crisps and a banana were handed out. Well done SBR - a great event.

Thanks Ash - hope you didn't miss out on a free post race sports massage too! Wonderful to see you again. Hoping for sunshine next year :-) - SBR Events
