Sponsored by Village Bakery, the Wrexham half attracts a strong field of club runners amd non-affiliates alike. The event is well organised with plenty of free parking and a nice start time of 11am for the sleepy heads! The route is mainly on country roads, consisting of a 5 mile loop and a longer, 8 mile loop. Its a flat course and one ideally suited to PB attempts. There are several water stations and plenty of great marshalls along the route. There isnt much local support, other than the odd horse and cow quietly observing! Near the finish line there is a great atmosphere with friends and family cheering runners home. A brilliant bespoke medal and a pack of 6 Village Bakery Welsh cakes awaits at the finish! For £19 affiliated, this is real value for money and so well organised. Im pleased to say, that PB potential route came good and I beat my best by 40 seconds, set over 2 years ago to record a 1:25:57! Thanks to the organisers and marahalls for a great day!
