← Pipley Wood Mud Bath 10k & 5k & Chidrens 2k

It's not called Mud Bath for no reason. A brilliant hilly and muddy trail 5k. As there is no parking on site for the race there is a park and ride bus which provides the transport to the start. Registration, as per other Relish races is easy and quick, this time though there is a massive bonfire to keep you warm while you do it. The race briefing is clear and simple. The route itself is brilliant fun but not for the faint hearted. The hills are steep and very very muddy (read slippery) but its very well marshalled so no chances of getting lost in the woods. Saying that it's also suitable for a first time trail runner because it's not about racing up and down the hill at speed it's all about to staying upright and enjoying yourself. Post race there is the standard Relish Running treats table which still stand as the best post race feast of all the races I've done so far. There was also the option for a post race beer and hog roast which was fab. I'd highly recommend this as a race to do with friends, enjoy the atmosphere, the bonfire......and the mud.
