← Plain Crazy

This is a pretty unique race that takes place on part of Salisbury Plain that is usually closed (the road in and out of Imber). The views from the tops of the hills are pretty stunning and the 'tank graveyard' from 9 miles is something you don't see very often. It is a pretty tough race that I vowed never to do again after my first attempt a few years ago but I just can't resist a challenge! The team from Red Fish were very organised and welcoming. Registration was very quick but the briefing was difficult to hear at points without a loud hailer. However, I really enjoyed singing happy birthday to a couple of the runners! The medal was quite basic but I was very impressed with the array of mince pies on offer at the finish line. The selfie frame was a nice added touch too. If I could make one suggestion, it would to be to extend the course enough to class it as a half marathon, as 12.8 miles (by my GPS) is so, so close!
