Room for improvement. Arriving at Parc y Scarlets ground i made my way straight to the baggage drop which was easy. And then joined the obligatory queue for the portaloo. After waiting in the wind and rain for 10 minutes i heard a marshall say there were plenty of loos in the ground, which was good as it had just been announced the portaloos had no toilet paper left. Trying to reach the inside facilities wasnt easy, it seemed the entire field of 2000+ was in the stairwells. The organsiers then announced there was going to be a 15 minute delay as the road closures were still not in place. When we finally started, over 20 minutes late, the bottleneck at the start was uncomfortable, and could have been avoided with some signs for predicted finish times in the pens. The course itself was quite flat, worked yoir way out of town into a big park right next to the bay, out qnd back to a cone, then onto the coast path, this was my favourite bit, very scenic looking out to sea. The wind made it tough in the last few miles, but cant be helped. Goody bag at the end was eclectic, water, natural bar, seaweed crisps, lip balm, and 2 sorts of foot lotion?? 7/10 overall, let down by toilets, late start and very cramped start.
