This was my first trail run, I chose to conplete the long route which was 15km. We somehow managed to miss the rain but there was still plenty of mud and puddles to go around. I found the course challenging but loved every minute of it! Overall it was a well organised event. Registration, parking and number collection was straight forward. We got there a little early so got myself a coffee to keep me warm which was delicious and the atmosphere around the start was great; fairylights and campfires galore. The briefing was clear and the route well marked. The half way water point was well stocked with very well received cola bottles. On finishing you are presented with a brilliant medal, a bottle of beer, iced coffee and a tribe bar. A race I would definately look to do again and I am already looking st what other Maverick races I could fit into my calendar this year.
