← Rockingham 10

This was my first event pacing for SBR events and my first visit to Rockingham race circuit. I was pacing 80 minutes for the 10 mile event (also 5k and 10k races) and it is such a shame the circuit has been sold and this will be the last event held there, it is a really interesting place to run. Parking and registration all very straightforward as was the pre race briefing. It was great to see a good number of #visorclub members there and a fair few were part of the pace team. We were warned the course can measure long as it is a racing circuit and measured by the racing line, I took a fairly tight line as it wasn’t too busy but my watch still measured 10.2 miles. Not easy to judge the pacing when it is long and also with no mile markers. The route was fun and good support from the crowd and marshals, good number of aid stations and a lovely finishers medal. I brought my group home in 79.47 so very pleased and good number of PB’s from the group around me. Plenty of refreshments available at the end and overall an enjoyable event. I would definitely recommend the SBR events to others.
