← Yorkshire 10 Mile

Lets be up front about this. I do think RunforAll are a tad greedy/inflexible and as the market leader they hold all the strings. HOWEVER, having said that they do know how to organise an event and today was no exception. Being at the University this is probably the ONLY trace i've run... and i've run the Marathon distance before as well.... where that sheer size of the race village and surrounding environment makes this an incredibly relaxed start. Today was god awful weather but due to the university buildings being open we had plenty of warm places to go. We rocked up to the start with 5 minutes to go and there were an abundance of spare toilets. The start was relaxed. The only downer today was an immediate left turn at the bottom of the first downhill stretch which meant a big bottleneck. The course is flat with the exception of one hill at the end of the race. Its a PB course. The support isn't amazing as the course gets very rural but when it is there its good. Running past the minster is very cool. Should you need them the buses back to the city centre are frequent - although today they would have smelt like wet dog. Overall this is a good race. I'll be back.
