← Devizes 10km Road Race

This was part of the Wiltshire Road League so it had a great interest from all the local Clubs. Sold out weeks before. It was a nice sunny morning everyone smiling wherever you looked. The Devizes running club crew and LPS Events were very well organised. It you needed help, there was always someone meters away from you. The race> after the briefing, you are then led 200 yards to the start. The road is closed for the start and then you're told to use the left side of the road. (standard practice) After the first mile, there is an long incline hill for approximately a mile, but don't fear, there were many Devizes Club members and locals to help cheer you on. Miles 3-5 were steady up and down but were reasonable. Between 5-6 there was a big semi offroad hill that many people had to walk up, but after reaching the summit, it was a happy coast to the finishing line. I really enjoyed this race, mainly of the organised crew and happy faces. I would do it again 100%. I was impressed with the medal, one of my favourites. Maybe next time though ill be better prepared, the incline and running with a slight calf muscle strain did push me :) Pippy.
