I bought the VIP package which was just great. You can use the VIP space inside the stadium with food and drink but most important keep you warm before the race and you can use the shower rooms after the race. The course is basically flat but the biggest challenge is the part along the coastline were the against the wind will take a lot of your energy. Overall, Melbourne Marathon was a great experience.
