← Tholthorpe 10k

As a last minute decision, I decided to enter this small and local village 10k, just north of York.

At £14 (UKA affiliated price, incuding booking fee), it's a really great value race.

There's a small field of around 500 runners, most of which were wearing their respective club vest, and the event had a wonderful community feel about it. There's easy car parking just on the edge of the village, with registration happening on the village green (by the duck pond).

The route shows off the Yorkshire countryside and takes place on roads. Each junction is signed and marshalled, so there's no chance of getting lost. There were two drink stations on the course giving out cups of water and wet sponges.

Watch out for the short sharp hill in the closing miles.... it caught me out!

At the finish there's plenty of water going round, and you receive a "Tholthorpe 10k" mug. It's then over to the village hall for a selection of homemade cakes - what more can you ask for after a run!
