← Double or Quit

Despite being relatively local to me, this was my first time at Double or Quits, organised and run by Ilkeston Running Club. As the name suggests, the curse is a loop of 5 miles and, at the end of the first lap, you choose whether to go again for a second lap or 'quit' after one.

Everythng on the day ran very well. Sign-up and registration was easy and cracking value for money at £15. I didn't hear the race briefing as the loud haler wasn't loud enough to be heard, but everything else was great. Loads of very supportive marshals, people out supporting and dishing out Jelly Babies and a couple of water stations on each loop.

Despite this being in a country park, don't be fooled though. There are a couple of very steep hills, which many (quite sensibly) decided to walk. Goodie bag at the end consisted of a medal, Mars Bar, various nick-nacks and a packet of Crumpets, as Warburton's were supporting the event.  A lovely event and definitely one to return to in future years.
