← Panshanger Park 5 Mile

Fans of Panshanger parkrun will know of this park, and parts of the route but you get to explore a lot more than usual in this race.

A trail course with a few challenging hills, however, still extremely enjoyable. Through fields, woods and around lakes you will go, taking in the beautiful scenery around the park well cared for and looked after by Tarmac.

Starting from Riverside Cottage, you head up and pass the site of the Panshanger House (demolished), the Orangery and go round to Great Oak before returning to the start at Riverside Cottage. After tackling a pretty steep hill, you follow a trail through Chisel Shelf before making your way back down to the lakes and running the latter part of parkrun alongside Osprey Lake. Up the hill by parkrun finish, left at the top and it's a welcome gradual decline through the field, past the event parking and to the finish!

You really do get to experience the best of this park and if the sights aren't reward enough, there's a medal to accompany.
