← Frome Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Family Fun Run

The first time I’ve run at Frome and in general it was a very good race. Decided to do the 5km rather than the 10km or HM as the shorter race was part of the Wiltshire Road Race League in 2018.

The sign up and registration were very straight forward and picking up my race number on the day was easy.

The start of the race was very busy with all three races going off at the same time. Thankfully the race was chip timed which was good as it took a couple of minutes to cross the line. The first mile was the. Very congested with runners of all paces going at their own race speed to that Seemed to make it quite difficult to get going. Once the crowds dispersed it was a very good race though, with some fantastic local support. Being a really warm day, the local residents with the hose pipes going was very much welcomed as we ran round. The race was also very well marshalled and other than an unescorted hill right at the very end, I enjoyed the race and somehow managed a personal best - by two seconds. A really nice medal at the end too.

All in all I’d recommend this race and would return again in the future.
