← Leeds 10K

Ok back to the scene of my 1st every race back in 2015, LEEDS 10K. This is the 4th time I’ve done this race.

What brings me back? It’s my home city race. The atmosphere, crowd support & organisation is superb. Some might say it’s too expensive but when you break it down (decent finisher’s shirt & medal, free massage, medial engraving & a decent goody bag) it’s good value, especially if you get the early bird offer of £20 (plus £2 in fees).

The city centre start & finish are my favourite parts of the course, the out & back in between isn’t brilliant but I’ve definitely done worse.

Aid stations were plentiful & much needed on a stifling, hot day.

Finish in front of the beautiful Leeds Town Hall with the crowd on top of you is fantastic.

Finishers were rewarded with a top quality tech shirt, good medal & decent goody bag. As mentioned earlier there is free massage, medal engraving in the event village afterwards.

In Summary...

HIGHS: Atmosphere & crowd support is as good as I’ve seen for a 10k.

LOWS: Out & back isn’t to everybodies liking.

BOTTOM LINE: Fast, flat course. Highly recommended, especially if it’s your 1st ever race. Runners are well looked after.
