← Bungay Black Dog Marathon

I have twice completed the Festival of Running 10k so having completed my first Half Marathon at Hampton Court in February 2018 I decided to go for the Bungay Half this year. I wasn’t disappointed! The first half between Bungay and Beccles includes 7 hills, the last one coming just as you think you’ve completed them all and it’s a doozy! But don’t be fooled, then second half is certainly not flat if that’s what you’re hoping, it’s a very long very subtle uncline for most of the way back with a little bit of off road for the last 2k. The Festival of Running is always well organised, plenty of water available, lots of lovely friendly marshalls too. It is a little hairy sharing the main road with impatient car drivers between Bungay and Beccles especially as you run on the left with the traffic approaching from behind. The Marathon option is also available which is two laps of the half but I’m not a lap person!! Never much of a queue for the loos here either which is always a worry for me! Nice group warm up before the half too... all in all I’d recommend it to anyone :-)
