How have I not done this before!?

This was the sixth running of the Friday Night Swim by Mysportingtimes at the Tri2O Swim Centre at Reading Lake.

About 100 swimmers for this one between the two-lap 1500m Full Moon and the one-lap 750m Half Moon.

At 9 p.m. it seemed like it would never get dark but dusk was falling as we got the race briefing and entered the water at quarter to ten. Everyone had glow sticks under their goggles or in their swim hats and the safety kayakers have head torches to keep an eye on all of us. By the time we got into the second lap it was properly dark and it was definitely a challenge to sight the swimmer in front or the next buoy, even knowing the lake really well. Great fun!

Got out the water, grabbed some cake and a coffee and the cool chunky medal, and had a great time supporting the rest of the swimmers in.
