← Cattle Creep 10K

I completed this in June 2018 as my first 10k event (previously I had only raced half marathons and upwards!). Living local I decided to give the event a go with a ‘nothing to loose attitude’.

The event was really popular, with many sign ups on the day (they sold out I believe). There are toilets and good parking, at and around the start location.

The pre race briefing is very detailed before being walked down to the start location. It is narrow and if you are going for time (although individually chipped) head to the front! It is hard to overtake and takes a good km for the field to spread out. The course is predominantly flat with one massive hell hill up to the church in this first km. On the way to this you run through a cow field, and the cows did spook as we ran, however if you just be mindful and carry on there is no problems!

The remainder of the course is flat with some minor gradients, most of the gates are open for you - I had to open one but this did not slow me down much at all - the Marshall’s are very supportive and there are plenty of them!

At 5K there is a water station, and your split time is read which is great for a small event. At the end there is a well stocked water and sweet station which is great! Also having your name announced running through the finish is a great touch. The medals are also my favourite yet!

I managed to get third placed female! Which was amazing, and my award was a bottle of prosecco which you cannot fault.

Overall, I will definitely attend again and would thoroughly recommend!
