← Holme Pierrepont Three & Six Hour Challenge

This was another brilliant It's Grim Up North race.

Restistration was very easy. Pre-race information was regular.

Race numbers were collection only. Race HQ was in a function room.

It was warm and there were hot food, tea and coffee available to buy.

This was a multi-lap, 6 hour (or less) race which took place at Holme Pierrepont Water Park.

It covered all distances from 5k to ultra.

Each lap was 3miles long. My personal re-race target was marathon distance so this would mean 8 and a bit laps.

Course was flat and fast on mainly decent paths. Part of the course was a little bit muddy and there were a couple of steps to go down but nothing to worry about.

Nature of this course means local support was very, very limited with only the odd dog water to offer encouragement.

On this particular day the weather was good but I imagine the wind might be an issue on another day.

Marshal support was absolutely perfect.

Water/feed stations were at the end of each lap. They contained cupped water nd various things to eat.

Finishers of all distances were rewarded with an ok medal, bottle of beer and a large bar of chocolate.

There was also an array of home made cakes for the runners to enjoy.

In summary-

Awesome event, fast & flat, well marshalled, fun event with a good atmosphere and good value.

Laps might not be to everybody's taste but it certainly wasn't a problem for me.
