← The Sir Titus Trot

Once again, another great event from It's Grim Up North Running. You had to arrive early for parking as Saltaire is a World Heritage site and is popular with tourists and locals. It's easy to see why when you are there...! Once parked, registration was a short walk with the start less than 5 minutes away. Race number collected, toilet used, then time to speak with fellow runners and friends. These events are always friendly and a great place to meet people.

Todays event had races from 5k through to an Ultra, I went for the Marathon. This race formed the first of my charity challenge in 2018 to run 12 marathons in 12 months. The route was an out and back along the canal. Reasonably flat in places with a few hills - mainly the Bingley Five Rise locks. Don't ever let anyone kid you that canals are flat..!

Unfortunately, I had to pull up at 20 miles as I felt unwell, so I still have my 12 marathons to go.... The support from the marshals, organisers, fellow runners and friends made me feel better about stopping - which makes it all worth while.

If you want a friendly, well organised event with great medals and free cake - then It's Grim Up North Running is the one for you!
