← Express to Hornsea

I always enjoy the uniqueness of an inaugural run, and this event didn't disappoint!

Starting from the Transpennine Trail monument by the sea, on a lovely sunny day. The runners gathered at the start, and faced a very short delay. It was a lovely day, and this presented an opportunity to chat to other runners, and look out to sea!

Race underway, and we headed up the road away from the sea and on to the transpennine trail. A lovely trail run, out and back, crossing a couple of quiet country lanes. Great marshalls supporting runner safety.

Reached the turnaround point, and having calculated that I might be in the top three, this focussed energies for the return run. I managed to hold on for second place, arriving back to the start/finish by the sea to cheers from the supporters.

Great medal drawing on Hornsea history, delicious cake, and a nice little trophy for 2nd lady.

A fantastic day!
