← York Yuletide Trail

Booked this race last minute as endeavoured to get A medal each month... so glad I did. Not a thing I can say against this except the weather was rather chilly! Not a bad thing as had we has rain then I think this may have been worse under foot.. a possible mudfest haha...

We travelled down early morning as done Harrogate parkrun before headed over to York. Minimal traffic and arrived in good time. The pre race email sent round gave great instructions and we got our numbers with ease. Back to car nd pinned numbers..a quick latte from Mr Barrista and we waited at the start... 2 laps seemed to go very fast and before I knew it we were at the end! Not sure if it was because I enjoyed it so much or not..the fact I done a few 5 mile runs in the week may have helped it go by fast too. Marshals placed in good places to guide us the right way.. all of them were so friendly and very brave in such freezing conditions!

At the end we were handed our medals with a goody bag and bottle of water.. then pointed to the cake stall for a free choice.. lemon drizzle cake for me.. delicious!

Stopping to eat our cakes I met a fellow visor club member and chatted a bit after getting some pics.. we then headed off to the car where I had a final few words with marshal Paul who was very nice.. a shout out to him! Thanks to all who made the event happen and I look forward to the next 'see York run York' race!

10 out of 10 from me!!
