If you want some great fun with some mud thrown in then this is the race for you. Having done this race 2 years ago I knew what to expect!

Straight forward number pick up from the cabin followed by pre race briefing which definitely let you know what to expect. We were told that it was very muddy and puddles were up to calf height along the back paths. 

10am came and off we went, the start is in the middle of some grass so we were covered in mud from the start. Loved the whole 5miles chatting away with my wife and I was also in fancy dress as it’s nearly Xmas after all. The route is all different terrain so probably trail shoes are best but I managed to keep upright in my old pair of battered road shoes. Water stop was available at mid way point so quick drink and we were off for the 2nd half thru the golf course and back around the flash. Soon we were back to the start again to cross the finish line, I was tempted to knee slide over the line for the official photos but not the best idea with my dodgy knees!

Nice medal along with great goodie bag at the finish including a race a selection box. There was mulled wine and mince on offer too. I will definitely be back again
