← Greenwich Park 5K and 10K MoRun

It was the the Mo Run, the last one for the year on Michaels running schedule.  As ever ,we were all there to give support, however this year also featured the junior mo run!

In the summer, my grandson Harris, 5 at the time, ran a race with his dad Michael ,because of his age (Harris age not Michaels) there needed to have an parent/adult run with him. All went well, medals given and cuddles all round, 6 months later and he’s back on the start line!

Harris now a semi veteran of 3 races is of the age where he can run on his own (and wants to run on his own!)  It's now it's the turn of his younger brother (and my 2nd youngest grandson) Lennon to step up and run.

Cometh the the hour cometh the man, as they say, when i was asked the question

"will you run with Lenny? "

"I would love to!” when really I should've asked "why?!". As it was with the adult /children ratio, Grandad was the the only /best option in the circumstances!

It was getting close to start time, Grandad (me) was wondering whether it was still a wind up, but after looking round realised I may need to actually run with Lenny (who doesn't want to run with his grandad, when given the chance, just wish we were kicking a footie en route). Lenny, however, was in a shall i /will i do i /dont i want to /dont want to frame of mind.

It came to start time, we stood at the back and it came to be that Lenny didn't fancy it, we'd hoped that he may see the start and want to take part.

The race started Lenny decide it wasn't for him. Grandad (after warming down !) heaved a huge sigh of relief having not to run and we settled down to the finish line to watch Harris run. As the runners started to pass the finish line and everyone was was cheering them in ,Harris crossed the line, Lenny cheered and gave his big brother a well deserved hug!

Another great mo run day and well done to Harris!
