Another race close to home which makes the arrival easier, knowing the back streets to get parked.  Public transport is close too.  Arriving at Gateshead Stadium I first spotted the toilets. Why do you always need or feel you need the toilet on race day when during the week in training you don't need it.  Nervous or excitement eh.  Once that is sorted, walking down to the start is about a minute....ready for the warm up.  Once the race starts it's through the industrial estate before bringing you out at the Quayside which is a part of Gateshead/Newcastle I love. Running past The Sage, The Baltic and the Milllenium Bridge.  The route has a fair few inclines including in the last mile the slog on the Tyne, as it is known as, one last attempt at a mini hill which always seems to get me.  Then onto the Stadium for the finish where you run 3/4 of the track to the finish line.  I find this route quite tough but still keep coming back.
