At $199 race fee, you'd expect a lot from this race.  In part the fee is justified: the course goes through 3 of the Disney parks and starts at the 4th, Magic Kingdom (albeit in the parking lot).

Registration was easy.  I'm led to believe Disney races sell out quickly, although one of our party was still able to get a place a couple of days before travelling.

Organisation is superb, from the expo to race day, Disney transport provide buses from their resorts to the expo at ESPN and the start line (incidently, the start time here is 5.30am!) and from the finish.  I did a sneaky and room swapped with friends who were staying in a Disney hotel as my hotel was offsite.

The course itself is mega flat, but don't expect a PB. Firstly, you'll need a reasonable previous time (which you have to get verified) to get in an appropriate corral.  Secondly, to justify the race fee you'll want to soak it all in and stop to get photos with some of your well loved (and some slightly obscure) characters.  There are Disney photographers en route to capture those special moments but be warned, prices, I believe can be hefty. If you have a memory maker photo package, you can link the photos to that.  Alternatively, take your phone and ask the cast member to take your photo with any characters - they're more than happy too.

Drinks (water and Powerade in cups) was available every couple of miles and sports beans around mile 8.  There's plenty of entertainment en route, including DJs (I remember one particular bit doing YMCA whilst running along), and bemused park goers, if like me, you were still running after park opening.  There's plenty of support from cast members and marshalls.

Great finish organisation.  Fantastic medal and long sleeve tech t shirt.  The bib is well worth keeping as a momento too.  Water, Powerade, banana and a race box with pretzels and a few bits to start munching on until I got the complimentary bus back to the hotel.

There is a post race party at Epcot. Admission is included in the race fee, but it didn't start until 8pm, and despite the hype, there doesn't appear to be much benefit to race participants in terms of food and drink discounts.

All in all, glad I did this one.  Not sure I could justify the cost on another occasion now I've done a Disney half, but you never know...
