An event that more than lives up to its reputation, with fantastic support and a stimulating and, for a flat course, challenging route.
The organisation leading up to the day was timely and informative, particularly when the Saturday schedule had to be cancelled due to Storm Brian! On the day the loudspeaker announcements were loud, clear and entertaining.
There was masses of car parking available, as well as park and ride, and the stewards / marshalls were helpful and friendly. There was a massive queue for the baggage drop but thankfully I did this with time to spare.
The wind was as anticipated: brisk and biting, and a challenge in the final 2 miles. However, the beautiful views of the sea and going through the historic dockyard more than makes up for it.
The finishers’ bag and t-shirt are good and there were other food and drink freebies to be had in the event village.
I would definitely do this one again!
