← Grand Prix Series - Victoria Embankment

This was the third time I have run the Holme Pierrepont Grand Prix 5k and LOVED the changes they made to this years race.

They moved the location from Wollaton Hall to Embankment which was a huge plus. It's much easier to get to using the tram and allows  people to use more public transport rather than driving. I also loved the new flat route which offered real PB potential. I set a massive PB of 22:57 shaving 53 seconds off my 5k PB time.

I also loved that they had distance markers for the first time allowing you to guage how much further you had to run and helped you pace yourself.

The mass start was really chaotic with a lot of pushing, shoving and on occassion pulling. It is unnecessary and down to poor running etiquette.

I really hope they continue to use this location as it is a brilliant and easy to navigate route. It's a huge improvement from previous years and I would highly recommend it.
