The first time I have ran the Wokingham Half. Plus points: Good communication beforehand by email and online, baggage drop was seemless and was very slick and smooth, race pack was very informative which was sent out with race number and gave excellent details for directions and places to park, course was very good and well marked and excellent marshalls and support all the way around. Minus points: For £40 race fee for affiliated runners which was quite steep the medal could of been better and does not even state the race date, only an energy bar and a bottle of water and no goodie pack was very poor, race start area was very crowded and congested which especially for an Autustic runner as I am this was a very overwhelming and sensory-overload experience, pacers were not in the places at the start they should of been and so much so that I could not find the sub 1hr 40 pacer which I really wanted which again for an autistic runner like me caused a lot of anxiety and I had to tryand get my pacing correct myself. Would I run the Wokingham Half again = Yes as overall I still enjoyed after my start of race anxieties. What to put right: Better value for money for the entrance fee with respect to better medals and a good pack as just a water and an energy bar does not give value for money.

Another brilliant race. Wokingham Half marathon is a super fast course which is reflected in the results. 170 runners run sub 1:20 this year which is insane. I personally love the out and back sections of the course where you get to see other runners at the front and behind you as you can give support to friends and runners behind and be inspired by the front runners making it look easy. A great race, one I do every year.

This is an excellent race, I liked the course which is entirely on closed roads and a nice run through the countryside. It was well organised in all the essentials, plenty of marshals, clear directions (not that they were needed with so many runners), very professional, good atmosphere and support from people along the route especially near the finish. It's a fast course and mostly flat though with a few overpasses and slight hills. With nearly 3,000 runners it is quite a big race and the event village felt a bit congested at times. The bag drop tent was very efficient though positioned at the end of a muddy field and a long way from the changing rooms. Plenty of refreshments with two coffee vans, a cafe, and a number of other food stalls. We were lucky with the weather which stayed dry and it was a lovely event. The car parks are quite a long way from the start which is not ideal but probably nothing the organisers can do about that. Another thing to note is that the course is a bit congested from start to finish unless, I presume, you run very fast or very slow! The roads are quite narrow and for some sections you only have half the road because of runners in both directions. Not too bad though and I gladly recommend the race as a well organised half marathon with a good course.

First time doing the Wokingham Half Marathon, really nice to be able to stay over in the town of Wokingham. Race day , plenty of facilities available and some very friendly volunteers. Starting line up was well space out with the pacers who were awesome! Water stations allocated regularly with some lovely scenery of the countryside. Medal was of good quality. The only negative I have to say about this course is that it is NOT A FLAT course. An incline at the start and mile 11, also there 4 overpasses with a totaly elevation of around 120m! It's a fast course as alot of the participants are top level runners. Nonetheless it was an enjoyable day, and will hopefully be back for 2026

I’ve done this event multiple times and know where to park, when to arrive etc. so it’s pretty smooth, even if the bag drop was a quagmire. My one real concern was that there was no access to the front-ish part of the starting line up, so if you were aiming for anything less than, say, 90 minutes of you weren’t there instantly you needed to be a certain height to get over the barriers. Having a section of fence open towards the pointy end would have saved lots of potential for face-planting / getting to know fellow runners in a hurry as you crashed into them.

I have signed up for the Wogingham Half as a fairly local half in a preparation for the Brighton Marathon. There was not a great choice of races but I have to say that Wokingham Half was a great choice. Few little things worth mentioning, There is no parking by the start/ finish. It is a large event with plenty of participants. Park and ride option is available. Being organised in February it is good to see warm and dry places to change. It was not raining but with recent weather conditions it was quite muddy in the field where toilets and bag drop was located. There were plastic cladding, but not enough for the crowds. Some shoes got quite dirty before the race. Including mine. Possibly moving toilets further away from bag drop would be good idea for the future. Lastly the race itself. What an awesome experience. Great pacing and flat and fast course. There are four crossings over the motorway, however the race is still nice and flat. Support from the volunteers and locals was also great despite majority of the route being in the countryside. Finished with the PB of 1:28:16 and will be back.

My 2nd time. Used the station car park as there is a toilet there (I drove 60 miles). Cashless £3.50 though - would be worth flagging that. The mile walk to the start was OK given it wasnt raining .... I could. find the changing room mentioned (used a corridor at back of cafe, also good to be out the cold wind). Carried my own water as plastic cups (were these recycled????) half full wouldn't have worked for me. Im not on Facebook so had no idea it might have been cancelled due to flooding - nothing on the website about that? Results were much slower than other races to appear on the website. One ?paid not volunteer marshal at the start area beforehand didn't seem to realise the big marquee was indeed the bag drop as he was directing people to the brick buildings. The bag drop was excellent

Really enjoyed my first Wokingham Half Marathon. Nice finisher's medal and clear instructions before the event. Enjoyed the countryside views. It would be great to get more Wokingham locals excited and out spectating for the parts that were in town, that felt quite quiet (although kudos to the band near Bell Foundry Lane! ) More comms required to remind people not to chuck their gel wrappers in the road. Sad that people need telling. An extra bin further out from the water stations may help.

Loved the race. Really great route out into the countryside. A few small inclines which were definitely felt on the way back in, but overall a fab event and good pb potential. Highly recommend this race.
