I have ran Windsor Half Marathon 9 times since 2004 and have only misseed races due to injury and foot and mouth! That risk to the Deer rather than myself having the diease!!
I have been fortunate enough to have won on 3 of these occasions. I've returned so many times due to the great atmosphere and scenic setting this race provides. The spectators and felllow runners alike are very enthusiastic and encouraging.
Last year 2019, I had the unique experience of observing the Medical backup provided by St John Ambulance who provided an amazing service, something I had not appreciated and grossly underestimated previously. Rest assured that if the unexpected happens and you need medical assistance regardless of the severity you will be well looked after.
Regarding the course, although it is undulated it is possible to run a fast time providing your employ a good race strategy. Initially, make sure you have prepared properly by running over distance and incorporating some hills in your training. On race day conserving your energy in the early stages will be beneficial. At WHM making he most the most of the down hill and flat sections can allow you to claw back seconds lost on the uphill parts. But most importnant of all is to enjoy yourself on the day.
I highly recommend this event which caters for all levels of runners. You'll be sure regardless of your standard you'll have numerous people to run or race with to support you in achieving your goals.
5 star rating from me!

My 2019 Windsor half marathon was my second at this event.
I regularly run and train in Windsor great park and it is a truly stunning area of natural beauty.
The race starts on the long walk running up to the majestic copper horse and finishes down the long walk with the view of Windsor castle pass the finish line. What I love about the Windsor half marathon course is that it offers the runner a challenge in places but also is a course that you can easily get a personal best time. I have run many Marathon events and this without a doubt is my favourite.
if you haven't raced Windsor you really need to tick this box.

This is a top event with first class organisation. The event village has everything you need including plenty of toilets, secure baggage storage and a good selection of catering outlets. The undulating course offers some lovely scenery and there are ample water stations staffed by very enthusiastic volunteers. The same can be said of the marshalls who also offer the runners plenty of encouragement. The whole course is also very well signposted incluiding a sequence of clearly marked large bins to dispose of water bottles after each water station. I highly recommend this event and not forgetting the very nice medal and t-shirt at the finish of course!

The event was incredible and the support you get is amazing. When you are going around you have plenty of people keeping an eye on you. They never fail to keep you motivated. Spectators are darted all over and they cheer you on. It was my first half marathon and I chose Windsor. I'm going again as I loved it

Ran this for the 2nd time (1st time 2017) due to wanting the medal as it looked fantastic! The course was more challenging than I remember but was able to post an alright time around the 1.51 mark which was a 25 min course PB. The event itself is brilliant and the route is fantastic as you take in all the natural beauty plus the starting mile and finishing mile are incredible for the views. However... The toilet situation is horrific and the "village" is incredibly poor. It is about time Windsor follow the example of other big events (Reigate, Ealing, Gatwick etc.) and make a proper event Village and just hire normal singular portaloo's... I understand the ones they get look better and work fine for women because they have 3 or 4 in each cabin, in the majority of men cabins there is 1 cubicle leading to massive queues of people before the run which is unacceptable. If this was sorted, I think this event would be much higher on my list of half marathons to revisit.
