First time at this event and really enjoyed it. Enthusiastic marshalls all way around the course and and a well marked out route.A great t shirt and medal afterwards and other goodies too. Plenty of toilets at the HQ and stalls for coffee snacks etc with other stalls offering discounts to participants.Travelled from Doncaster and was a little worried about parking but this wasn't an issue and only a short walk to the HQ. And to make it even better the race photos were free 😁

Great race run by fantastic people. I really appreciate all the work that was put into making it a good day out and at a very reasonable price. Would recommend and would run this again in the future - thank you so much to all the friendly volunteers and organisers!! There were ample portaloos at the start, good signage throughout the race, and I felt safe the whole time. Lovely support from locals and a decent number of aid stations, plus the volunteers made it easy to grab a bottle of water. Overall a great event in a beautiful location. I do think people should have been assigned a wave or told to stand by the marker for their pace - I stood next to the 1.40 HM marker in the queue to start (and ran it in 1.39 so was almost exactly at the right spot for my pace) but almost everyone in front was much slower and I was having to squeeze and weave past people for the first KM. This happens at most races but it was particularly bad here, and at no point were people told to arrange themselves in order of pace as is typical for races of all distances to avoid congestion. It felt a bit dangerous having faster runners having to try and get past others. My only real criticism of the actual organisation is that bibs should have been sent out earlier - I was lucky enough that mine arrived in time, but it did only arrive a few days before the race. I live in London and was travelling up to stay with family for the race, and was getting nervous that it wouldn't arrive before I left. I know that some people's bibs were delayed due to Royal Mail, and think in general bibs should get sent out a good week or two ahead if possible.
