The course was perfectly marked, and the entire event was flawlessly managed. Highly recommended!

Great 10k race except for a couple of admin errors. Registration was easy with number pick up on the day. Start waves could have been organised better. A number of people I heard say they felt they were in the wrong one. I got placed in the last wave which meant I had to overtake 600+ other runners. No real bottlenecks round the course though thankfully. My finish chip time was also 12 minutes out but they corrected this shortly after I flagged it. I feel I was probably unlucky and overall it was a lovely event and the marshalling was well organised. The medal & T-Shirt were great also.

We were lucky with the weather, as I know from experience that the headwind can be brutal on that stretch. The local support really helped the last few kms. Lovely medal and T-shirt’s. Thank you!

This was my return to this race for the second year in a row. A nice race which sells out really quickly.

You get your race T-Shirt when you collect your race number. HQ to the start is a short walk away and you have the pleasure of waiting next to a doughnut van in the start pen (a good incentive to bag a good time and a reward).

The course is a mix of path, road, trail and promenade.  The road section did have a number of pot hole and not al we marked or marshalled, there are speed bumps which could have been signed but you can get over that.

Just the one water station at the 5K mark and you could argue that 2 is the normal for a 10K race.

The crowd is best for the last 2K when you need it most needed.

This is a fast course and the reward at the end is a bottle of water and a seashell shaped medal.

I’m sure I’ll be be back again

Whitstable 10k (Bank holiday Monday)

First time run I’ve run this race in 2018 in record bank holiday temperatures. A really good race that I would definitely do again as it is one of my local ones, please see below. A really good race that I would do again.

Good

Lovely course with views of the sea for 75% of the route, first half mile is downhill so easy to get going

Superb support from supporters along the course and Marshall’s

£16 for a 10k with medal and a t shirt is a real bargain

Bad

With temperatures around 25/26 the water station at halfway I felt was poor as only 3 people giving out water in small cups. Could have done with another at 7/8km given the heat

Last 500m was very tight racing with the public and bikes also using the path left only 1.5m wide path for runners, but again harsh to criticise as the beach was packed

11am start is just too late to start a race - needed to be earlier
