Really loved this event. Dartmoor is always a tough day out but it's so beautiful that it's worth it. It was definitely a race of two halves: the first half was tough and hilly but we passed through some stunning woodlands and I loved it. After you leave the halfway point at Postbridge (such a beautiful spot) you headed out on to the wild moors. Oh wow, that wind was so biting cold despite being a warm day on the sheltered sections! The moors throw everything at you but it's so worth it. I was really grateful to be able to keep in the sight another runner ahead, as despite having the excellent gpx to follow, I found it reassuring . Thanks Wild Running. Now I know of you, i will look out for more of your events

Well I'm not dead, but i do feel immortal now. What a fantastic route, not my first crossing of Dartnoor, but easily the best one. Getting a high five five from legendary race director Ceri, added that Cherry at the finish :).

Lovely day for a beautiful run across Dartmoor! Great route and the tough middle is made up for with a great last quarter.

The tracking was brilliant. It was disappointing not getting a medal each when your team won. I felt my efforts at being First Lady were insignificant as it wasn’t acknowledged again as I ran in a team. Super Friendly

Hi Anne, You either needed to enter as a pair or solo to be considered for the individual race category prize. It makes sense to either have one or the other. But we will make this very clear in the brochure for next year. Pairs will each get their own trophy as well. Thanks for the feedback.

A great event. It had an uncommercial feel that was all about the running. Some great quotes and mantras posted around the course. Fantastic scenery. Loved it

This is the second wild running event that I have done, having done the Burrator Noir back in November 2025. Their events are ran by a friendly, supportive team who genuinely care. The routes are well designed and truly give that 'wild' feel that I enjoy from a trail run. Way of the Dead was no exception! This was my first ultra, and I am looking forward to hopefully doing more in the future.

We are definitely working on this. Ironically our Something Wild Festival is 65% female entry!

An adventure across Dartmoor, would highly recommend! The only downside was the finish - it would've been nice if there was a line or finish marker, even just a 'finish' sign - to show we'd made it. It also would've been nice if someone had taken photos of me throughout the event...

It also would've been nice if someone had taken photos of me throughout the event, especially at the end. 98

Hi Thomas. This wasn't our first choice of finish venue but the brewery was forced to close, so not ideal. We have a great finish line venue lined up for next year! Our photographer couldn't make it but we'll be sure to have one next year. We do still have quite a few pics on our FB page and group.

I loved the more intimate feeling of this race - not too many people - so sections were spent alone on the moors which is exactly what you want to experience … peacefulness and solitude. Highly recommend this to everyone who has legs for trail, a bit of elevation and some cracking views. Kind of wish I could do it again today!
