Well organised race- probably the most beautiful scenery I have had in half marathin racing, which added to the enjoyment of a course that was mostly flat. Superb weather conditions made it a lovely experience! Friendly and well-supporting marshalls all along the course.

The plus points: Stunning venue and course. Well signed and marshalled with 4 water stations for the half marathon runners.

The major downside: The walk from the car park. No clear and safe pedestrian access without picking an opportune moment between cars coming in due to narrow single track and overgrown bushes. 

Enjoyable race with good river views, it was quite sunny too which was a surprise given weather forecast. Mostly flat, a little bit of incline in the 7/8 km . Three bridges to go over twice.  I was expecting more of an off-road or trail feel,  it actually had lots of tarmac and the paths were firm - a grassy field to run over but no mud, wish I'd worn my road shoes rather than trail shoes so I could have gone quicker. Route markings were easy enough to follow. I don't know why the half marathon people are set off first before 10k runners, spent the first few km overtaking them on quite narrow paths.
Only real problem with the race was too few toilets, only 8, big queue built up before the race so some runners late for the start. No catering provided for the race but my supporters found a cafe in the sports centre.

I will probably be back next year with the right footwear and smash my time.

Very enjoyable event;  easy to park and well signed with plenty of toilets and easy number collection and simple and effective covid arrangements. Good not to have a PA or person with a tannoy making announcements when there were little necessary. It was well marshalled; just one point when it wasn't clear to turn right past a hedge but the marshall soon called out to me to redirect.   Very cheerful marshalls and photography was excellent. Nice to be able to have a sprint finish at the end.  Interesting route with plenty of stretches of the river to run past. Definitely hope to enter this one again.

This race starts from Bisham Abbey the National Sports Center used for many England sports teams. It’s a lovely setting, a pleasant course which crosses the River Thames on a couple of occasions. The first part of the race is along a tarmac lane before you reach the paths next to the river and across a grassed area. 

Although a reasonably flat route, there may be flatter ones to choose if you are looking to beat a personal best. You can still run a quick time, but do have to contend with a few bridges, oh, not forgetting the odd kissing gate which of course slows you down as do the bridges.  In fact, I managed a PB here!  I would describe the race as enjoyable, along the River Thames with scenery to take in along the way, what’s not to like. The medal was quite large with a stuck on insert in the centre. I feel it could have been a little better.
