This was my first attempt at 10km since rupturing my achilles tendon in mid-2023. My strategy was to simply complete the course, regardless of time. Massive thanks to the 70-minute pacers, Tracy and Tony, for coaching me through the race. The friendly and supportive atmosphere is always a stand-out feature of this race, which is why I chose it as my comeback event.

Car parking a little confusing. The attitude of marshals and pacers was exceptionally good, especially as I was a nervous 72 year old taking part. Marshals on the track were encouraging and greeted everyone with a smile. Lovely finish area and prize giving was a bonus. Thanks ...

Overall very good race sadly ruined by a very long measured course. The course according to my (and many others) gps watch was 10.16 kilometres. Unfortunately that meant that I missed out on an official sub 40 10k race, despite covering the 10 kilometres in 39:30. If you care about your time, don't do this race. It's a fast course if the weather is right, but the distance issue is a shame.

Thanks for the feedback Joel. So the course is officially measured by an accredited course measurer. They don't use Garmin or other GPS devices as they are not accurate measuring devices, especially on lap courses and/or cloudy days. But rest assured, if you started and finished under the gantry, you ran an official 10k measured course, whereas the 10k distance your gps watch gives you is more of a guide and less accurate.

Really great well run event from start to finish - only my 3rd 10k! Great staff... 'Shouty Dave' was brilliant and so encouraging, which really helped get over the line. The amount of pacers were a great help too. Looking forward to my next one with DB Max already, I am booked ...

DB Max have hosted another fantastic, well organised event. The level of support on a wet and windy day was amazing. Brilliant finish gifts and everything was incredibly smooth. A big thank you to Will and the team, already looking for the next event hosted by this team!
