2nd time running this event. A challenging course with plenty of ups and downs. Course takes you out to countryside lanes and roads so there is a lot of time with just the other race participants for company, but the lovely village of Leigh (which you run through twice) is always fantastically supportive and is the highlight of this great event

This was my first time doing the Tonbridge Half. It was a very well organised event,. The route itself was ok, but a bit boring as one country lane looks like another. The crowd support was sadly lacking, and aid stations a bit of a let down with only water available. It has a few hills but not as bad as I expected.

This was my second half marathon my previous one being in Hastings Lovely Scenic route with lots of Hills which made it challenging very well organised but very poor crowd support you run through one Village Leigh where you get people cheering you and handing out Jelly Babies etc but the rest of the time is country lanes with nothing but sheep and they don't even sheer you lol Also was disappointed with the aid stations as all you was offered was water No goody bag at the end of a race which I was disappointed with Don't think I would bother doing this one again

This was the first time I have run this race, and I would race it again! Firstly the positives: -Beautiful course through rolling Kent countryside for the first 3-4 miles, then country lanes in a pan handle shape before heading back to the start. -The support in the village of Leigh (3 miles and 9 miles) is fantastic - locals offer drinks and jelly babies and a personal favourite - orange segment. There was also a local brass band playing and the church bells were ringing non-stop. -Lovely, heavy medal -Plenty of free/cheap parking about 5 minutes walk away -Portaloos also available at the water stations -Friendly marshals -Easy to find race HQ and secure bag drop -Busy race village with stalls -Lovely atmosphere at the start/finish And a few negatives: -Toilets. I understand this was the first time the race has started from the Judd school, but there were just not enough toilets for the size of the field - one inside loo by the hall for ladies, and only 6 portaloos outside! As a result, the queues were huge and some runners almost missed the start of the race. -The website advertised t-shirts as being available on the day for £6. I did not pre-order as I wasn't sure what size I would need, and I tried to buy one after the race only to be told the price was £10 on the day. This was not communicated anywhere in the pre-race info, and as I only had £6 cash on me meant I couldn't buy one. Bit of a sad way to end the race for me.
