Having supported my Dad at last year's race, we both ran this year. Registration is straightforward, communication efficient in lead up to the day. Luckily we used the previous participants' discount code otherwise it would be hard to justify the £44 entry fee! + £22 for a t-shirt if you want one. This is a lot more than other races I've entered, inc a half marathon with closed roads, medals, feed stations, snacks at finish, etc.
There was plenty of water at stations and they were suitably spread around the course. There were queues at the portaloos before the start, but enough available that the queues moved quickly. Park public toilets were open for runners to use around the route.
Were given a small flapjack & peanut butter sachet at finish. Food and drink to buy from trucks in start/finish area was quite pricey (1 beer & 2 soft drink cans = £9), we went home for food.
Support and encouragement from marshalls, 'squirrells', tree surgeons and other characters was fantastic. The atmosphere overall was fantastic & really motivated me to keep running, even on some of the hills! Even being overtaken by Paul Sinton-Hewitt at 3 miles despite him being last to start!
The course is one lap around Richmond Park, there is very little shade, and a couple of horrendous hills (especially mile 7) but the views are gorgeous. Last mile is relatively flat and was great for a sprint finish!
Just waiting for the free race photos to go online, I did try to look happy for the camera...

brilliant route, but absolutely nightmare to find due to no signage from the gates to the event village and really could have done with something as well as water at the stations.
Wfficient bag drop, lovely volunteers and a pleasant day out but no goody bag or t-short am I really hope the donation from the hefty entrance fee is substantial.

2017 was the inaugural race and held on a beautifully sunny day. Registration online was straightforward and I also entered my children for the fun run.
At over £45 (£15 for the 1 mile fun run!), this is one of more expensive races. There is a ‘processing fee’ that is mandatory – why not just include it the price then? I can’t help thinking that any race that has a huge VIP tent for non-runners is a commercial venture that doesn’t have the runner in mind.
The race village was big with food stands and a bar. Plenty of entertainment and music. The bar was ridiculously priced and some of the food stands couldn’t cope with the number of customers. Bag drop was OK but not enough loos for the competitors.
There was mass warm up which was well done and fun. As mentioned by others, the start was a farce. The PA system wasn’t loud enough to hear what was going on and there was a delay to the start with no explanation.
The course was undulating with some hills. Support was well spread out and there were great views of the park, of London and wildlife. 3 water stations with cups. The finish is a nice speedy downhill stretch.
Unmemorable goody bag which, considering the cost and compared to the Royal Parks Half (which is similarly priced), was disappointing. To the race’s credit the photos are free. On balance, I’d rather have the photos than a bigger goody bag
We stayed and hung out in the race village (mainly queuing for food and drink). Nice atmosphere. Enjoyed spotting running royalty – Big Carl, Susie Chan and Sophie Raworth. A nice family day out but won’t be running again due to the high costs and the very ‘corporate’ feel.

Enjoyed the race, loved the mobile 'shower' but it was a bit too hot for my liking. If it started a bit earlier I might consider doing it next year. As it is now, I've ticked it off my list and that's just about it.

Lovely route around Richmond Park. Nice to run past deer and some tree surgeons up in the trees!
The route was more undulating then I was expecting, but anyone who knows Richmond Park wouldn't be surprised - although the big hill at 6.5miles still wouldn't be welcome.
It has the potential to be a very fast course, I was 20 sec off a PB and it was a very hot day.
The support was good in small patches and empty in others. I'm used to running on my own so I'm ok with that, but the crowds are nice when you are flagging.
The water stations offered just water in cups except one which was also giving out strange chewy things. The water cups got emptier as the distance went on, the last one gave me a cup which was less than a third full. That particular station was on the outside of a bend well off the racing line but no one had thought to move to the other side.
The biggest down was the shambolic organisation of the start. We were called to our start pens then they delayed the start but there were no speakers near the pens so runners had no idea what happened. Then there was a further delay for a minutes silence which we didnt know about because of the lack of speakers plus the kids entertainment was right next to us and very loud!
To add to the poor organisation and lack of water, the cost was much higher than I would normally consider for a race. I can't see myself going back to this one again.

Given that you can't take a pee behind a tree in the park (you are asked very strongly not to!), there are not enough loo's with very very very long queues right up to the start.
Water stations were too small and cups are much less convenient than bottles (although probably less wastage so just a personal, irresponsible preference).

Loved being a part of the inaugural London 10 Mile in Richmond Park! The course is hilly but beautiful, and there were some great features along the route such as squirrel high-fives, tree surgeons overhead cheering you on and motivational mile markers. There were also 4 water stations and a CLIF fuel station which was well needed on such a hot day!
The post-event race village was fantastic to chill out and enjoy food and live music afterwards. My only comment would be regarding the pre-race briefing as those of us in the wave at the back couldn't hear anything of what was being said.

Overall a really good event.
It was much better organised than some other more established events I've been to.
Event village was good, a few more loo's (mostly for the ladies as they had urinals for the gents) would'nt have gone a miss.
Start was delayed by 15mins but without explanation, and the waves were all very mixed up, with me being in Wave 2 and some quicker friends being in waves further back.
The course is brilliant, it's really challenging with lots of big hills but it's fantastic to run round Richmond Park on closed roads and there was far more support en route than I expected.
The aid stations were just about at the right places and well stocked with water and shotbloks - some energy drink wouldnt have been bad, but i really cannot complain.
Great event, really enjoyed the challenging nature of it - I look forward to doing it again next year.

I was really looking forward to this event, and it lived up to all my expectations.
Travel to the event was relatively easy using public transport, although at one point I was seriously wondering why we didn't catch a bus from Ricmond tube station...if you plan on walking to the village, be prepared its a long walk!
Bag Drop and Toilets, despite queues at both of these locations they moved relatively quickly and I wasn't held up massively. As usual at events more toilets would be useful, but this certainly wasnt the longest loo queue I've ever been a part of!
Start - I'm just an average runner, but at this event chose to run with my partner so was slightly closer to the back of the pack than I am used to. The start was delayed by about 20-30 minutes, and unfortunately the speakers weren't loud enough and no information was passed down to those of us at the back, so we had no idea about the reasons behind the hold up.
Course - Wow, this is what I was hoping for. Having never run any Richmond events before, and not being local I have no idea how this shapes up to other routes, but as a Richmond Park virgin, the views and scenery were amazing - we saw loads of deer. The course was challenging with a few hills/slopes, but nothing that was not obtainable if approached in the right way. The organisers had also tried hard with signage and mile markers, and had also put on a couple of bands and squirrel high 5s at certain points. The tree surgeon cheer sqaud in the tree in the middle of the steepest hill was fantastic and a real boost to help you get to the top.
Slight negatives for the route were the water stations, which were dishing out water in cups. While I understand the reasons for this, it does make it hard on a hot day to get enough water before either chocking or spilling it everywhere!
The finish was well organised, with an easy flow through picking up bits for your goody bag, and collecting a nice sturdy medal. Another perk of this event were free photos, so we'll see how they come out ina few days.
I also hung around and enjoyed the event village for a while after as it was such a lovely day, they had a good variety of food stalls, a changing area, hay bale seating and a really good band playing.
Overall I had a fantastic day, a great course and event village and a real community atmosphere. I've already pre registered for 2018.
This event is very much recommended :)
