Ceri and the crew have been running this event for decades , so it’s really well organised : a fun route with varied terrain ; great extra “stuff” ( sauna , hot beverages and cakes ) at the finish . It’s a premapped trail run , at night , on the moor - so runners are well advised to check the route in advance ; but that said , the way marking and marshalling to keep you on track are really good 😊 Just remember to run UP the hill to the right when you leave the moor and to turn RIGHT ( not left ) at Blood Cross !

Only my second night race and I loved the different challenge in a friendly environment. A tough but runnable course which was well marked. The reflective tape worked so well shining bright ahead in the light of my head torch. Missed a marker on the final tarmac stretch and made ...

Only my second night race and I loved the different challenge in a friendly environment. A tough but runnable course which was well marked. The reflective tape worked so well shining bright ahead in the light of my head torch. Missed a marker on the final tarmac stretch and made a wrong turn adding an extra mile! Entirely my fault for neither spotting the marker to turn off nor the X sign showing we’d gone the wrong way! Thanks Ceri and team for a very enjoyable evening and for ordering in a lucky good weather window (it snowed on the drive home!)

First night run on the moor, event was well organised and we had good info ahead of time. Course was marked well but obviously given terrain and it being night there was the odd time we had to stop and check the route (but we had been provided with the gpx links etc). Friendly ma...

First night run on the moor, event was well organised and we had good info ahead of time. Course was marked well but obviously given terrain and it being night there was the odd time we had to stop and check the route (but we had been provided with the gpx links etc). Friendly marshalls. Be good to have more overt warning around the one cattle grid as some runners did not slow down and that's easy to fall on. Nice to have hot food and drinks at event hq after, much appreciated. Given how nervous I was at doing a night run on the moor I really enjoyed this.

For the price of the event, was a poor race standard,although a nice route could of been better Marshalled as not just I but others on numerous occasions were wrongly directed, saw no refreshment stops on route, things were very vague throughout could of done with more marshals a...

Hi Alby, We usually use the Expedition scouts who make up our crew for this event but unfortunately they weren't available this year and the school hols meant we were one or two shy of our usual staff. We will rectify this next year and probably change the dates. However there is no way we can have a marshal on every gate. That's why we ask runners to open and close every gate themselves and to study the route beforehand.
