This event was organised superbly from start to finish. All required kit is provided in registration in advance (helmet stickers, bike label, race tattoos etc...) along with course maps. Waves are allocated, but it is essentially a rolling start. It's worth noting that TT-bikes have to go in their own wave due to safety, and as such road bikes with clip-on bars need to remove them before starting... luckily, the friendly mechanics were able to help me with that, and returned them to me at the finish!
The course is challenging, but personally, the ascents and descents kept the ride interesting. There are 5-6 climbs, the worst of which are at the end of the lap as you return to Tenby, but at least there is a great 2-mile downhill stretch to the finish from there. Road surfaces are good, the course is well signposted and marshalled, and there is plenty of support in the form of motorcycle officials and first responders. This was adequately demonstrated when a participant unfortunately suffered a medical emergency on one of the hills. The riders were stopped, road closed, the ambulance attended, and an alternative route sought for the event to continue all within approximately 20minutes.
The finish into Tenby was incredible with people lining the streets and cheering, followed by a great medal, water, free Dominos pizza and Erdinger after crossing the line. Highly recommended event, as a stand-alone or as part of the Long Course Weekend.

I've done this ride before, but never after a 2.4 mile swim. So I started the morning already a little tired. However, the atmosphere and the anticipation of the day ahead easily outweighed that.
The first loop, out to Angle, is fairly flat and despite knowing what lay ahead probably too quick. However, the support in the villages and the feed stations help get you through.
Then you hit Templeton, Narberth and Princes Gate which are long drags followed by the shorter but steeper climbs at Wiseman's Bridge and Saundersfoot, twice ! Fortuntely the return back to Tenby is mostly downhill, where you get a great welcome into the town centre.

First time for me doing this event and the full distance of 112 miles. I've done plenty of 100+ mile rides in the past but i knew this would be very tough with the distance and climbing.
Open roads and a humid day made it tougher still.
Not much in the way of a briefing at the start. Kind of turn up at your designated time and off you go.
The start of the route down to Freshwater East was pretty special. Beautiful countryside and views! After this, it was very rolling terrain, lots of signs, lots of marshalls and lots of feed stations with lots of food and water. Despite it being open roads i think the organisers did well safety wise. There were key points to slow down and roads were well marshalled. I did unfortunately see a couple of nasty accidents, including going past the closed roads where a lady needed the air ambulance and they took us down a diverted couple of lanes instead.
The route is very hilly the further on you go, with big climbs up to Narberth, Wiseman's Bridge and St Brides Hill in Saundersfoot. The latter which is covered in people cheering and music playing.
I'm lucky to have finished a few events in Tenby town centre and its a fantastic atmosphere. This didn't disappoint, great feeling after a long day and also another brilliant medal.
A tough challenging event, organised really well.

I completed the 106KM event it was a lovely day for it , great support from start to finish . It is a hilly course and not sure all prepared for that so was a bit congested at times also some cyclists not following instructions and cycling 4 abreast which made passing difficult !!
I really enjoyed and will hope to complete the longer event next year

The coirse is hard, with relentless hills that make jt difficult to get into a rhythm. Parts of the route are on closed roads. The parts that are not are very scary! Some junctions/roundabouts had little marshalling leading to a free for all. There was a horrific accident this year leading to a female participant being airlifted to hospital in a critical condition due to it not being entirely on closed roads. Sadly the organisers have not had the grace to mention this on their Facebook feed and express their concerns for her recovery or her family.
Yoy.need to be competent at climbing and decending on arrow roads with hairpin bends. In the dry and the wet!
That said the views are stunning. If the organisers, police, local highways and council could sort out the open road issue this would be 5 star once you get past the shambolic registration
