An adventure that I will never forget. The Southern Divide was everything I was hoping for and more. As one of the back markers and a novice to ultra distance riding, I found it hugely challenging but rewarding in equal measure. The delight at reaching the end was only beaten by ...

An adventure that I will never forget. The Southern Divide was everything I was hoping for and more. As one of the back markers and a novice to ultra distance riding, I found it hugely challenging but rewarding in equal measure. The delight at reaching the end was only beaten by the realisation that the organiser Marcia was literally waiting for me with a beer and some words of congratulations. The route, the organisation and the atmosphere were all amazing and the sense of camaraderie among riders in the group chat quite literally kept me going at times. I definitely recommend this as an event for a beginner despite the formidable physical and mental challenge it presents. The views, the riding, the people, the challenge - this has it all.

I can honestly say that I felt the event was fantastic and loved every minute of it. There’s always room for improvement but on this occasion, adding more bells and whistles isn’t necessary…it’s great as it is. What an amazing adventure that’ll definitely be doing again. 🚴👌...

I did The Southern Divide as my first event last year and thoroughly enjoyed it so headed back this year, sadly I had to scratch from the event at the end of day 2 due to illness but that doesn’t detract from how well It’s organised. The organiser Marcia goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is looked after as best she can, pre event communication is first class and the briefing covers all bases . Marcia also sends a comprehensive list of places to stop, camp etc so saves some leg work. WhatsApp groups ensure that you never feel Alone with plenty of encouragement from Marcia and other participants . I will be back in 2026 as I’ve some unfinished business and can’t wait . The route is stunning in terms of scenery , a bit tough along the East Devon Coast and the Jurassic Coast but certainly pays you back with some fantastic views

Here's a shorter, more casual version of the review: --- **Southern Divide – Epic Ride, Awesome Vibes** The Southern Divide is an unforgettable bikepacking trip from Lands End to Rochester Castle, packed with stunning views and seriously tough hills. It’s challenging, no doubt, but 100% worth it. The whole thing kicked off at a campsite with sign-on, pizza, beers, and a campfire hangout—super chill and a great way to meet everyone. Big shoutout to Marcia, the organiser, who absolutely nailed it. She brought together a brilliant group of riders who supported each other every step (and pedal) of the way. This isn’t just a ride—it’s an adventure with good people, tough climbs, and some of the best scenery the UK has to offer. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

This was my first off-road ultra (although I've done several multiday Audaxes before), and it didn't disappoint. An extremely friendly event: if you want to race hard you can, but if you want to take it easy and enjoy the stunning course (like me), you will be able to do so and still finish in time. Marcia the organiser was super helpful, and the cameraderie among particpants on the dedicated Whatsapp group helped with motivation. There was a fair amount of hike-a-bike, especially along the Dorset coast (at times I questioned whether this was a cycling or a hiking event), but it was all worth it for the views. All in all, I really enjoyed it and I can 100% recommend it, especially to first timers.

Fantastic route showing the best of the South of England. Not to be taken lightly, plenty of elevation gain on this one! Lots of work from organiser before the start meant everything ran smoothly.

700kms of breathtaking scenery. There's a photo op around every corner which pays testament to a true masterclass in route-plotting . This wasn't an event hurried together on Komoot or Strava but curated with care and attention to detail. An amazing feat over such a distance. ...
