Not really a ‘festival’ but very expensive camping!! Lovely location with great views from the campsite and friendly organisers, but all activities cost extra - so for our group we effectively spent £300 to camp for 2 nights! We had fun in the sauna and doing yoga but there was really not much else going on. We had a good time but just wasn’t what we were expecting, and weren't sure what we were paying for!

Hi Sophie, I don't know who you booked with or if you looked at our website? It is very clear on our event brochure and website what the itinerary was. We'd booked the whole campsite out exclusively for the festival which comes with eco toilets and warm showers. Camping tickets also included (three night's camping with parking), access to outdoor yoga, a speaker's evening, live music, a guided run and the sauna. We pride ourselves for offering a family friendly, low key weekend in a lovely part of Devon, which guarantees access to a fully marked and marshalled trail race from 5k to ultra distance, sea swim or swim run. We had more than 300 guests booked in over the course of the weekend, some of whom probably didn't turn up when they saw the forecast. But we had no intention of cancelling. If it were much bigger it would be hard to justify the name on the tin, 'Something Wild'!

An aptly named festival on a rugged windswept coastline, with exceptionally friendly participants and race staff :).

FANTASTIC weekend. Not just a running festival. LOVED the yoga, poetry performance, authors talks. Live music and super yummy crepes and BBQ to celebrate the end of the races - absolute winner. Sauna + cold plunge with views over the sea were just perfect. THANK YOU

I want to say a massive thankyou to everyone involved in this race, this was my first ever ultra marathon and despite the bad weather conditions I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive experience From the marshals to the aid stations, everyone single person was so friendly and encouraging and made it feel like something we were all in together. The course was brutal but beautiful and well marked out (I would definitely encourage using the maps provided though), the festival site was cosy and clean even with the harsh weather conditions (there was a big main tent everyone was able to gather in and chat, there were also music events and speakers who came and spoke about interesting topics), there was also a brilliant sauna, hot showers and cold plunge perfect for getting warm. Finishing that race will be something I’ll never forget and it wouldn’t have been possible without the community, thankyou again to the organisers, volunteers, runners and everyone who made this such an amazing experience for a first-timer like me. You’ve set the bar incredibly high for what an ultra should feel like and I’m so grateful I got to be part of it

Fantastic scenery and really fun run. Friendly staff and so many smiles and people walking the path to cheer you on and motivate you to keep running. Path marking was slightly unclear at times, so I did end up running about 2 extra miles. But thoroughly enjoyed the event.

Communication was very lacking in build up to the event. Mandatory itinerary was not sent until 2 days before the event. Stunning route, but no marshals at junctions with some runners not sure where they had to go / got lost. Finish area had no fuel station for post run. No liquid, No snacks on offer just two overpriced little shop setups. Finishers medal feels cheap for cost of race.

Hi Will, Thanks for your feedback. We can not guarantee that some of our race markers will not be removed or blown down which is why we strongly suggest that runners put the route on their phone or watch. Most of it follows the coast path. It's not possible to put marshalls at every junction but we try to put someone at al, the major pinch points and include wrong way markers to deter runners from going the wrong way. We had four feed stations on the ultra for a 32 mile course, which we continually stocked up as well as two caterers at the festival site. For a festival site I think their prices were quite reasonable but this is a v subjective thing. We can certainly add more food to the menu. The itinerary continues to be published well in advance on our event brochure on our website and any updates are emailed out.
