Calverley School run is a midweek charity trail race brought to you by IGUN. All funds raised were going to buy sports equipment for the local school.
Race has the option of 10k or 20k distances. Course went through woodland, canal paths and a bit of road. It was a nice scenic run, with a tasty hill to end each 10k loop.
Finishers received a quality medal, large bar of chocolate and a bottle of beer.
There was also the usual IGUN home baked cakes to enjoy.
In summary-
Fun, friendly event. Nice scenic run and a decent challenge.
The race raises much needed funds for the local school so it's a win-win for everybody.
Thank you for an awesome evening.

Another enjoyable IGUN run. A great combination of hills, canal, trail and road makes it challenging, beautiful and enjoyable.

Great support from other runners and marshals.

Usual beer and chocolate as well as cakes for sale for the charity.

2 laps for the 20k passed fairly quickly, chatting on my first lap with other runners.

Still dont understand why there isn't a bigger uptake.

Calverley School Run was a trail race organised by It's Grim Up North, with profits going to the local school. Race featured 5K or 10k options. I entered the 10k race. Registration and number collection were nice and easy and there was a good pre-race atmosphere. 10k route was on decent paths. It had a super-fast start through a wooded area and onto canal paths. It then had a hilly finish. Water station with cupped water was at the half way point. Marshals were awesome, as always. Finishers received a lovely medal and small finishers bag. There was also plenty of finish line cake to enjoy. In summary - Excellent race, interesting course and very good value. It's a race I will certainly do again. The event also raised over £1,400 for the school, which is absolutely fantastic. Thank you IGUN and the marshals for a brilliant evening.
