I loved the race and the message behind it, it’s a very different race to most which makes it unique and a bit more special. It’s surprising how many people rely on the river exe for everyday life and it needs to be protected.

Really enjoyed the enthusiasm of all the event organisers and volunteers who put on this fantastic event. It's more than just a run, it's an educational experience about the challenges wild salmon are facing as they head to their spawn point along the River Exe.

Running alongside the River Exe to understand the upstream migration of the endangered Atlantic salmon gives every km profound meaning. Carrying the cloth salmon baton from team to team turns the challenge into a shared act of ecological stewardship and creative activism, and an incredible sense of connection between different towns, villages, and running groups. It offers stunning views, changing landscapes, and a wonderful appreciation for local waterways and nature.

Enjoyable race with a great atmosphere and decent organisation. The rain, muddy fields and cloudy weather contributed to the overall experience. However, I think the communication in terms of whether the relay-style event should be run by the whole team together or by one person of a team for a particular section of the run could have been clearer. For future events, you may want to consider having more aid stations especially in less accessible sections to prevent sudden medical emergencies.

Thanks Mark. I always love seeing people complete their first ultra because of then inner glow that's visible from a distance, even if you can't actually walk straight for a bit. As Etienne Stott said on Saturday, it's overcoming the voices! It's also a leveller for Olympians and new ultra runners alike, doing an ultra aint easy for anyone.

Overall, it was a great event. The route was ace... but the support of the staff, volunteers and supporters really was second to none. Weather was pretty pants though....as wet as a salmon 🤣 Such a great, fun atmosphere. Hopefully see you all next year
